The photographs of Terry O'Neill have become some of the most iconic portraits of his famous sitters. O'Neill's career took off in the 1960s as his informal and relaxed style suited the more liberal climate of rock n' roll and a new Hollywood. During the sixties and seventies O'Neill photographed many of the biggest cultural stars of the day including The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, David Bowie and Brigitte Bardot.
Working freelance, O'Neill took commissions from all of the most popular photographic publications of the time. Magazines such as Look, LIFE, Rolling Stone and Vogue would receive the photographer's prints which they would then stamp and copy for publication. Often the photographer would not have these vintage prints returned to them, however, O'Neill was meticulous in collecting and archiving these unique prints, which have been compiled for the first time in this edition, selected by the photographer.
Including both his black and white and colour photographs, the book includes portraits of The Rolling Stones, Raquel Welch, Michael Caine, John Cleese, Carrie Fisher, and comes with a stamped print from O'Neill's renowned 'Morning After' photo session with Faye Dunaway in 1976.
