This limited edition, which comes with a signed print of one of Moriyama's best-known images, presents Daido Moriyama's colour work for the first time. Focusing on his photographs from the 1960s and 1970s, the book illustrates Moriyama's restless life spent travelling the world. His photographs depict the varied rhythms of life, and in much the same way as his black and white photography, the images recount visions and worlds hidden just beneath the surface of reality. Yet, Moriyama also finds a uniqueness in their means of expression, he writes, 'black and white tells the story of my inner world: the deepest feelings and emotions I feel every day as I walk through the streets of Tokyo or other cities, like a vagabond wandering aimlessly. Colour describes what I encounter with no filters, and I like to record that as my eyes see it. The former is full of contrasts; it's pungent and totally reflects my loner personality. The latter is polite and thoughtful of others, which is the way I present myself in the world.'
