Limited collector's edition with a signed silver gelatin print.
The wisecracking jest of veteran photographer Elliott Erwitt has made his work hugely popular. Wickedly playful but also empathetic and perceptive, Elliott's vast archive of ingenious photographs has been compiled in a limited edition Phaidon publication entitled Snaps.
This beautifully designed book includes a signed silver gelatin print of Elliott's Provence, France (1955). Elliott's famous photograph of a man and a boy with a baguette on a bicycle was used by the French Tourist Board and subsequently parodied by Heineken. It is typical of the photographer's ability to capture beauty in the mundane but also a charming shot of rural French life.
